Uniting School Administrators to Create a Better World

The Heart of a Leader

Hello again,

As part of my journey toward School Administration Mastery, I have been doing a lot of reading about leadership. I want to be an administrator who is known for great leadership. I know I’m not there yet, but in my readings, I’ve found that the most successful leaders are those who help others succeed.

When the team members succeed, the leader succeeds.

I recently came across a blog post where I read about Mark Miller. Mark is the Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness for Chick-fil-A. He has a blog at GreatLeadersServe.org.

He speaks of the Heart of a Leader. His acronym is exactly describes the leader I want to be.

He states that a great leader:

Hungers for wisdom,
Expects the best,
Accepts responsibility,
Responds with courage, and
Thinks of others first.

I wanted to have this posted somewhere in my office just to remind me of what I need to do if I want to reach School Administration Mastery.

What I did was use some of my graphic design skills to create such a poster. Here’s an image that I’m going to add to my Pinterest board.

Heart of a leader Mark Miller

If you are interested in downloading a printable PDF version of the poster that I’ll be adding to to my office wall, you can get it here.

I want to thank Mark Miller of GreatLeadersServe.org for helping me on my journey. Be sure to check him out.

Until next time,

Here’s to your journey toward School Administration Mastery!

Thanks,

Sam
